Meet the Founder
Jessica McDonald is a full time EMT at American Medical Response (AMR) in Connecticut. Since high school, Jessica knew she wanted to be in the medical field caregiving. She earned her CNA license and started in home health care. She established and operated a home healthcare agency for 5 years until Covid shut down normal day to day operations. She was employed at Yale New Haven Health at Bridgeport Hospital during the peak of The COVID Pandemic. In 2022, Jessica was accepted into AMR’s Earn While You Learn program and left Bridgeport Hospital in 2023 to pursue a career in emergency medicine. She recently earned her EMS Instructor’s License.
Jessica is a two time survivor of Domestic Violence. She started Ending The 7 Movement January 2024, with the mission of creating a safe escape and environment for others continuing to experience these abusive relationships. Jessica uses her own experience with abuse and training as an EMT to guide others into taking charge of their lives and create their own futures so they do not become another statistic.
Currently, Ending The 7 Movement is curating a peer space where it will host discreet and safe support groups. The space will also be available to rent to host a variety of events including, but not limited to paint nights and first aid classes. Ending The 7 Movement’s goal is to create a mobile crisis unit to remove victims safely from abusive environments and relationships, which is integral to the path to freedom
for survivors.
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you." - Maya Angelo
Our Mission
Through lifelong advocacy and continuous education, Ending The 7 Movement strives to create a supportive community and provide personal aid to those looking to take hold of their lives and foster autonomy in their futures.
Our Vision
Ending The 7 Movement seeks to put an end to the average statistic that a person goes back to their abuser seven times. We hope to create a future where people choose themselves, break old patterns, and create healthier, long-lasting futures.
